Information on this month's curriculum, parent and staff news
Many thanks to all those parents who took the time to complete our end of year questionnaire - 83% were returned!
Here is a summary of the main points:
All parents felt that the transition record reflected their child, this is good to know as the staff do take great care and time to accurately record your child's endeavors over the year.
All the children seemed to really enjoy the Playtrail experiences. We are lucky to have this fabulous facility on our doorstep. Through Extended Schools we plan to explore nature at the Playtrail again next year. Check on their website for summer schemes. www.playtrail.com
After a lot of consideration we felt it was necessary to increase our school fund contribution from £3 to £4 per week. As well as providing a healthy and varied snack each day we also invite many outside entertainers into school, for example, Banyan Theatre, Jo Jingles, Zoo lab and annually visit the library and an indoor play facility. We do not ask parents for individual contributions for these events as they are paid out of your weekly school funds. 96% of parents who returned their questionnaire felt that this was reasonable due to the "quality and breadth of activities offered to the children" (quoting one parent). A majority of parents agreed that this was a preferred method as opposed to collecting money for each individual activity. School funds are essential for us to provide such wonderful, exciting experiences which supplement our curriculum in this their first venture into education.
